This example presents the xqDoc XHTML view for the main modules and library module used to
construct the xqDoc presentation output. However, these modules have been embellished with xqDoc style comments
to illustrate what is possible when running xqDoc against existing library and main modules enhanced with xqDoc
comments. Select the 'view code' link under the 'module uri' to examine the xqDoc comments that were added to the module source.
This example includes the W3C XQuery 1.0 and XPath 2.0 Functions and Operators for cross reference links. This was accomplished by using the
XPath F&O W3C Working Draft 02 May 2003 and converting this XHTML into xqDoc
XML with this script. The generated xqDoc XML was then stored into the XML database
like other user-defined modules. However, for these types of modules, there will be no source code available to view.
There are certainly more recent drafts available for the W3C XPath Functions and Operators specification, but we
are using the May 2003 version since the XML database we are leveraging supports the May 2003 specification. It
would be a simple exercise to create a similar translation script for more recent versions of the
XPath Functions and Operators specification. The W3C XPath F&O is simply a representative example
for what is possible with xqDoc when 'external' or 'third party' modules are translated into xqDoc XML and
stored in the XML database.
